Riverspoons Studios Vintage Star Wars Custom Box Design

I believe every Star Wars collector wished they could travel back in time and collect those figures released in 1977. As a fan of those vintage cardbacks, I’ve decided to design my own packaging and did my best to capture the vintage look of those Star Wars cardbacks on Funko Pop style packaging.

It was really a challenge considering the small amount of space I could use on the front part. I also redesigned Funko’s Logo to pay homage to Kenner, as what they also did on the ReAction figures logo. As of now I’ve made a total of 21 custom box designs and hoping to assemble them all anytime soon. I’ve included here the first 5 actual boxes printed and assembled.

Researching a high res photos from the cardbacks is one of the time consuming part, but all the effort was worth it when I’ve completed the design.

Riverspoons Studios Conan - TDK Joker Crossover Custom Pop! Figure

" HIT ME! HIT ME! HIT ME! … Baby one more time! ♪ ♫ "

I'm glad to present my own CONAN crossover series featuing Conan as the Joker based from the movie The Dark Knight. I was first hesitant to use my Zombie Conan for this custom, but I know it's going to be worth it. I also added a sculpted scarred lips to make it prominent, rather than only painting it.

Riverspoons Studios Space Sheriff Shaider Custom Pop! Figure

“Time Space Warp!! Ngayon din!"

This project has been on hold for over a year and I’ve finally took time to paint this figure to it’s nostalgic glory.

Space Sheriff Shaider aired on 1984-85 and has been an icon for kids from the 80’s. It was a blast to see this figure in pop form and I’d be glad to share these photos to all Shaider fans out there.
